Marina Pérez Aliacar is a predoctoral researcher at the Aragon Institute of Engineering Research (I3A), University of Zaragoza, Spain, focused on the mathematical modelling and simulation of tumour microenvironments. She received her B. Eng. (Bachelor of Engineering) in Industrial Engineering in 2019 at the University of Zaragoza and she is currently studying a Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering at the same university. She started developing her research career in 2018 when she joined the TME group, where she completed her Final Degree Project, “Parametric study of the simulation of the glioblastoma process in microfluidic devices”, with Honours. The aim of her research is to contribute to the tumour microenvironment understanding, developing tools able to computationally reproduce experimental phenomena, such as drug resistance, which can be helpful in the design of new experiments and clinical therapies against cancer.
