Giuseppe Failla graduated in Building Engineering at the University of Palermo (Italy) in 1997. He earned a Ph.D. in Structural Engineering at the University of Palermo in 2001, under the tutoring of prof. M. Di Paola and prof. P.D. Spanos. He has a 18-year experience in teaching Structural Mechanics, Dynamics of Structures, Theory of Structures, at the University of Reggio Calabria, where he became Associate Professor in 2015. In 2002 he was visiting lecturer at Rice University, Houston (USA), where he was in charge of the Mechanics of Structures course for undergraduate students. His research interests are dynamics of matematerials, nonlocal elasticity, fractional viscoelasticity, stochastic dynamics of linear and nonlinear systems, dynamics of offshore wind turbines. Since 2018, he takes part to the European Project “The Blue Growth Farm”, Project ID. 774426, call H2020-BG-2017-1. At present, he has authored more than 70 publications in international scientific journals.
