Code Of Conduct

The WCCM-ECCOMAS congress is committed to providing a safe and professional environment that fosters the exchange of scientific ideas and opinions on computational mechanics, promotes equal opportunities and treatment for all participants, and is free of harassment and discrimination.

All participants are required to abide by the following Code of Conduct during the virtual conference, regardless of the online tool and form of virtual interaction.

The present Code of Conduct is not a legal document or prescriptive in nature. It supplements, but does not affect, the application of other relevant policies, regulations, rules, and laws.

Expected Behaviour

       Treat others with respect and consideration.

       Use discretion in your interactions and remember that a behaviour that is acceptable to one person may not be acceptable to another.

       Communicate openly and thoughtfully with others and be considerate of the multitude of views and opinions that are different than your own.

       Be professional and inclusive in your critique of ideas.

       Be mindful of your surroundings and of your fellow participants.

       Alert the organizers if you notice an unacceptable behaviour or someone in distress.

Unacceptable Behaviour

       Do not engage in harassment or intimidation, including any verbal, written, or physical conduct designed to threaten, intimidate, or coerce another participant. Remember that harassment intended in a joking manner still constitutes unacceptable behaviour.

       Do not insult or put down other participants.

       Do not use sexual language and imagery.

       Do not offer unwelcome sexual attention.

       Do not discriminate based on gender or gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, physical appearance, race, religion, national origin, or culture.

       Do not intentionally talk over or interrupt others.

       Do not retaliate against or disadvantage anyone for reporting a conduct concern or assisting in its resolution.

       Do not make audio or visual recordings of the virtual event in any medium and do not distribute audio or visual recordings of the virtual event.


Anyone requested to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately. The conference organizers may take any action they deem appropriate including : removal of inappropriate comments in discussion forums, expulsion from live sessions or networking sessions, expulsion from the conference without refund.
