World Congress on Computational Mechanics

Association Française de Mécanique (AFM)

The french association of mechanics AFM gathers all the main academic associations of the field.

The AFM was created in 1997 to represent Mechanics in France as a whole. This creation is the result of the willingness to collaborate of 17 thematic scientific associations, some of which have decided to merge totally with it, and of many major industrialists in the field of mechanics. The association's role is therefore to represent this unique dynamic that constitutes the gathering of the actors of French mechanics. The AFM is a place of animation, information and exchange for the mechanics community: teachers, researchers and executives from industry and transfer structures. Its vocation is to promote activities and achievements in the main trades of mechanics. It also has a role in developing relations with foreign associations of similar scope.
